- PGY4 Categorical General Surgery Resident
Description
The University of Hawaii General Surgery Residency Program has an opening for a categorical PGY-4 General Surgery resident to begin July 1, 2026. Please note, we are only able to sponsor J-1 visas at this time. Applicant must have successfully completed PGY-1, PGY-2 and PGY-3 training in an accredited General Surgery residency program, and must be a current resident in good standing in an ACGME-accredited General Surgery residency program. Requirements

6. MSPE
7. USMLE Step 1-3 Scores - All Steps must be passed on the first attempt (minimum score 230 on Steps 1-2)
8. All ABSITE Scores
9. Three Letters of Recommendation - including 1 from current Program Director
10. Summative Competency Based Evaluation
11. Milestone evaluation from current program
12. Current ACGME Operative Experience by Role report and General Surgery Defined Category and Minimum report
13. Detailed list of previously completed rotations (all training years)
14. ECFMG certificate, if applicable
