Description

General Surgery residency program is a fully accredited residency program by ACGME and is made up of 24 residents including 3 chief residents. It serves the Harlem community in New York City where the residents are exposed to a wide variety of medical and surgical conditions.

Requirements

Harlem Hospital General Surgery residency program has an opening for a PGY 2 Preliminary position beginning on July 1, 2026.  Applicant must have completed one (1) year of clinical training, up to PGY 1, in an approved ACGME general surgery residency program.  The applicant must be in good standing and when applying should include the following:

        Visa Status

        Current CV

        Summative Evaluation

        Rotation Schedule up to PGY I

        ACGME Defined Category case log

        Medical school Diploma & Transcript

        3 letters of recommendation, including one from the Program Director

        ABSITE scores for PGY I

        USMLE Steps 1, 2 and 3
